Brilliant tone probe kit. I do a lot of office refits and tracing old data lines is a nightmare. The RJ45 connection on this Klein tone generator makes it so much faster than stripping wires for alligator clips.

As a telecom engineer, a reliable telephone wire tracer is my most used tool. This kit outperforms the cheaper generic ones by a mile. The non-metallic tip on the probe is great for avoiding shorts on punch-down blocks.
Very solid low voltage wire tracer. It traces CAT6 runs perfectly through ceiling voids. My only minor gripe is that the volume wheel on the probe can easily be knocked when sliding it into the pouch, but otherwise a fantastic bit of kit.
I was looking at the Fluke equivalent, but decided to try this network cable tracer based on the price. I am not disappointed. It feels incredibly rugged and the alternating tone is very easy to pick out in a bundle of 50+ cables.
Good analogue tone generator. The alligator clips have a strong bite and it works flawlessly on alarm cables and standard telecom wire. Would be nice if it came with a spare probe tip, but it's still great value.

How to Use on Site
- Ensure the circuit you are testing is de-energised (this tool is a non active wire tracer).
- Connect the tone generator to the target cable using the RJ45 port, RJ11 port, or the included alligator clips.
- Switch the toner on and select your preferred tone mode (solid or alternating warble).
- Turn on the tracing probe and adjust the volume dial to a comfortable level.
- Sweep the probe tip along the cable bundle or near the wall surface. The tone will be loudest when you are directly over the target wire.
- Once identified, turn off both units to preserve battery life and store them in the provided pouch.
